Jolly Nation rocks!!

I'm addicted to decoupage at the moment! Here is the pile of Jolly Nation characters I've made.

They are really easy to make and look really cute.
When I'm making up the cards I tend to work in batches of similar designs with different papers. I've also discovered Safmat - I can print my own sentiments which then can be used as rub ons. They are virtually invisible. I disguise the edges by printing a border which then looks like matting and layering. (The best wishes sentiment is one of mine. The others actually came from a sheet of wedding rub ons and I just chose the bits I wanted!)

Muted shades!

I recently bought a 'patterned muted shade' paper pack from QVC and have been having a great time making cards. The papers aren't pastels at all and come in colour families which all mix and match nicely. The papers also tone nicely with my DCWV card stacks, although I'm rapidly running out of blue and purple!
These two cards have been made for specific people, rather than my 'child friendly' production line!

Happy Easter!

As promised here are few of my latest creations! I'm heavily into decoupage at the moment (die-cut as I'm too lazy to cut things by hand!!) Here are some of the Jolly Nation cards I've been making today. I've actually spent the last week making up the figures,  so today was card day!! The papers are actually vibrant blues, purples and pinks but they look really muddy here. It might have helped if I hadn't put them in bags and sealed them before I took the photos!!

Still here some more!!

Have been busy creating loads of cards using decoupage kits. Have made so many that I don't know where to start with the photographing! I could blog every day for months and still not show them all!! Will try to get the camera out soon!

Still here!

Just a quick post to say hello! Have been ill with the lurg but and now better. Have been making tons of cards - just need to photograph them in a decent light!! See you soon!

Use-It-Up again!!

Bits and bobs from m DCWV Glitter and neutral stacks.
The decoupage fairy is from a new kit I bought from Ideal World - 10 sheets decoupage fairies, backing papers, stickers, cards and loads more for less than £10!  I think these will go down well with the kids at the school fair.
More monochrome with DCWV glitter stack!
I really am having a problem throwing away the tiniest scraps now!! I'll just make smaller cards!!

Use-It-Up Lemons and Lilacs!

If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you'll know how much I love my Flavia 'Lemons and Lilacs' papers. There's no way I throw even the smallest scraps away - the tiniest pieces can be used for a greeting and put onto mirri card! I just love the freshness of the colour combinations. So here are some cards I've made with bits and pieces. I've still got a 12x12 and 8x8 pad left so you'll be seeing these for years to come!!

Use-It-Up some more!

I found some 'friendly' rub ons, so decided to use them on a couple of cards. I'm now working on the theory that a bit of mirri card and a bloom or two are the easiest way to finish off a simple card!! It's all down to the colour co-ordination!! It also means that I'm using up more of my least favourite flowers, ribbon ends and embellishments!

More 'Use-It-Ups'

Here I am in pink mode!! I'm really enjoying the challenge of using up scraps to make cards. I'm also getting through my supply of old peel offs and stickers. The master plan is to use it all up so I can start buying stash again which is more 'me' as crafter now and not several years ago. The cards I don't keep to send myself or to give as gifts, will either go to sell at school for the kids stall at the summer fair or to the charity shop.

Use it up!

I'm now in 'Use up your scraps' mode and have turned to making cards as a way of clearing out all the leftovers! I've decided that I'm going to make up packs of cards to give as gifts this year, along with making some birthday calendars.
Here I am in my Black and White phase! The final scraps of my favourite DCWV glitter stack card sheet.

(The mirri card mats have shown up as colours - they aren't really - they are silver!)

Daily Decoupage - 2

Here are a couple more of the 'Big and Beautiful' cards.
Struggled into school today and made it to the end of the day, but got a lift home and was leaving a the kids did!! I'm now snuggled up in the warm, having been to the chemist to get more drugs, and Budgens, to get more chocolate!!!
Tomorrow could be a bit of a challenge as it's Parent's Evening. As I keep coughing when I speak, I may have to develop a series of hand signals - or alternatively cough in Morse Code!!!

Daily decoupage - 1

Well,  it's been half term for me but my plans went slightly awry when I went down with a filthy cold. Since Thursday I've only been feeling well enough for sleeping, eating, watching TV and crafting! I recently ordered a 'Big and Beautiful' die cut decoupage kit from QVC. The idea was for the kids at school to make the cards and sell them at our Summer Fair. I didn't really feel up to anything too complicated, so I've been up to my ears in foam pads and have made loads of cards. The decoupage ones were really easy as they also came with matching papers and a variety of sentiments. I've also been able to use up loads of scraps. I've now ordered some different decoupage cards for the kids to try!
So here are the first couple I made. I shall share a couple each day as I'm back at school next week and won't have much crafting time again until Easter!!

Sticker storage

I had a drawer full of stickers and a lot of scraps, so I made a sticker storage book. I used A4 card, plastic card storage bags and old embellies and scraps. I've made loads of pages and put them together with book rings. It's not the most beautiful thing in the world, but I can now find the stickers I want.

Birthday rub ons:

I'm in the mood for cards!!

Another blue / green card. Well I already had the papers and scraps from the last card so I thought I might as well make a birthday card too!!!

Tuesday, February 17

Thanks in green!

I seem to be busy making cards at the moment! Hopefully I can scrap this week as I went on an outing yesterday, so have loads of photos.
This card is similar to one I made in pink a few weeks ago. The colour scheme was really dictated by the fact that the message was in green!! I'm not usually a blue and green person so I was pleased with this.

Birthday notes

More L&L!! I made this notebook for my friend Jilly, who I went out with today, and then forgot to give it to her!! We had a lovely day out - Leeds Castle in the morning and Ashford Designer outlet in the afternoon! To make it an even better day, I got home to a parcel of crafty stuff which I ordered last week!! Woohoo!!
