Race for Life

A couple of weeks ago I took part in my first Race for Life. Had a fab time walking round with friends chatting!! The event inspired me to create my first scrap page in nearly two years!! Had a lovely crafty day yesterday - lots of crafty ideas in the pipeline!!

Let the holidays begin!!

What better way to start the holidays than with a new toy!!

I've had a Craft Robo for several years bit have found the effort of linking it to a PC a pain as I'm now a Mac girl and my old PC is extremely slow and bothersome. So I thought the time was right for a basic Cricut machine. Having seen so many demos on TV it was like welcoming an old friend. It's so easy to use!! Luckily a friend had given me a voucher to spend on crafty stuff and this seemed like the perfect choice as I've got loads of papers and embellishments and didn't just want to buy adhesives. I'm now trawling around the auction sites looking for cartridges!! What a glorious summer I shall have!!

First of many!!

I've used one of my hand made toppers on a simple card. Like the effect - just as well really as I have about 20 toppers made with my Lacey circle die!

Sunday, June 19

Lovely Laceys

I've had a busy time with my circle punch and new Lacey Circle Nesties!! I used up lots of spare images and paper scraps to make lots of pretty toppers which are the perfect size for A6 cards. A touch of ribbon, a sentiment and the odd bloom will finish them to perfection!!

Lacey

I love my cuttlebug and I love using up scraps, so these Lacey circle nestabilities are perfect. At the moment I have one circle punch, but am waiting for some circle nesties to arrive from eBay to broaden my circular horizons!!

Scraps

A while ago I sorted out a huge heap of old birthday and Christmas cards and cut out useful images or sentiments from them.

I'm now beginning to use them to make some VERY quick cards!!!

The Craft Barn

I went on an adventure today with a trip to The Craft Barn with my friend Charlol. I could have bought everything in the shop but settled for some Sissix flower dies. Have been turning scraps into flowers since I arrived home!!

Birthday boy!

My youngest nephew is 17 today. Having made a Facebook card for his brother, I was a bit stumped for ideas. Looking at my phone I remembered that he had am iPhone. I printed out a large picture of the phone for the base card and then edited pictures of him, and logos which would have significance for him, to create the button icons. I was very pleased with the result ... and so was he!

Tuesday, May 17

Busy, busy, busy

SATs are over and now the real work begins - preparing the children for secondary school as well as organising all of the end of primary school events. It's only Tuesday and I'm looking forward to the weekend already!!

Sunday, May 15

I love to eat!!

This is turning out to be an 'edible' weekend. Friday evening out for a meal with school colleagues. Saturday dinner round at a friend's while we cheered (the songs) and booed (the votes!) at Eurovision. Now I'm getting ready for my regular garden centre cafe lunch. The best thing about weekends like this is that I don't have to cook!!

Friday, May 13

Fridaaaaaaayyyyy!!

It's been a long week - the first five day week since before the Easter holiday!! It's also been SATs week for Year Six. Busy, busy, busy. Celebrated the successes of the week with another manicure. This time a French (or maybe an American - not sure of the difference!) manicure.
