Wedding Breakfast

So, what did you do yesterday? I breakfasted with friends and then joined in with the service in TV. We had the order of service so that we could join in with the hymns and the dress code was red, white and blue. An occasion to remember. As many special celebrations revolve around food I thought this card appropriate!

Royal wedding

Did you get an invite? I think mine got lost in the post! I'm off to a friend's this morning for a royal wedding breakfast before watching the service - and joining in with our order of service. Now which card should I send?

Hoppy Birthday!

I don't know anyone with a birthday today, but I wanted to share another of the Pink Cat Studio digi stamps. More bunnies, but I thought these didn't have to be used just for Easter as they didn't have any eggs in them. I went for easel cards as they are my current favourite for small cards, adding a bit more interest.

TV bear

Here are a couple more cards from the Paddington kit with scenes in 3D TVs! A bit of a fiddle to make as the sides are all folded to create different layers. I also didn't quite position things right so Paddington is hidden behind the control panel!!

Back to school

Ooh, 6.00a.m.!!! A bit of a shock!! Back to work after 17 days of laziness!!

I somehow ended up with a spare Raindrop decoupage layer, so I didn't have a proper background for her. I picked up on the semi sepia nature of her uniform and went for my take on vintage - not a style I am comfortable with. No distressing or inking, just layering with browns. I have to say I'm pleased with it.

Cherish

This Raindrop card has a definition of the word 'cherish' running along the bottom. Having heard some sad news recently, it made me think that we need to cherish each moment and surround ourselves by people we love.

Happy Easter

By chance, and a bit of Googling, I discovered Pink Cat Studio digi stamps the other day. I fell in love with the Easter rabbits.

Love both designs. They were really easy to colour in with Promarkers.
Have a lovely Easter day.
He is risen!

Chillin'!

I had good intentions of scrapping my recent jaunt to The Midlands. However, my printer had other ideas and told me that I needed a new yellow cartridge. It was too nice an afternoon to go shopping, so I took my laptop out in the garden and did some school stuff instead. If I had a swing in my garden, I would have sat on it!

Back home!

Have just spent a couple of days on a mini road trip driving round the Midlands. Apart from a couple of pick ups in specific places we have just driven around stopping at places on a whim.
One of the best places was Woolsthorpe Manor, childhood home of Isaac Newton. Here is the famous apple tree.

A great couple of days and I've got an idea for a LO, so I hope to find the time to actually scrap over the Easter holiday.

Busy days

Where do the holidays go? I've really enjoyed my holiday. This time I seem to have found the balance between work and play and have not left the school work until the last minute. In fact I've done all that I have to do and have one more task that I need to do, which leaves me time to get ahead and do the things I've wanted to do in the past term but haven't had time for!! After nearly 200 school holidays I've finally cracked it!!

Wonderful wardrobe!!

I bought some new coat hangers last week and have been busy sorting out my clothes. I have a whole wardrobe of winter clothes that fit beautifully. It's a shame the same can't be said of the summer ones!! I blame being on holiday and not having a set lunch hour (any excuse!!). Looks like I'm going to gave to be good for the next few weeks - once the eggs and hot cross buns have gone!!

3D bear

Another card from the Paddington kit. This time a 3D scene in the same vein as the TV programme, with our hero in true photographic likeness and the rest of the scene as a drawing.

Sunday, April 17

New arrival!!

I finally broke in to my Paddington kit yesterday. The first thing I decided to make was the cute little suitcase belonging to 'you know who'.

On the inside I used one of the decoupage sheets.

It's a very easy kit to use with some specialist projects - suitcase, 3D scenes and TV sets - and plenty of toppers and embellishments to make your own card designs.

Special delivery!!

A parcel arrived on Wednesday. It's my Paddington Bear kit from Create & Craft. I've opened it but have resisted the temptation to get started on it. I made a resolution that I would work on one thing at a time and, as I still have about 4 more Raindrop cards to make, Paddington may have to wait until after lunch today before he comes out of the box!!

Friday, April 15

Raindrop again

Another of my Raindrop cards. I had fun with the flowers as I dug out some flower punches which I used to make wedding place cards a couple of years ago. I love having a whole bouquet if different flowers on a card.

Thursday, April 14

Thirty!

It's my god-daughter's birthday today. Can you guess how old she is??
This isn't a colour palette that I would usually use, but it worked so well in the dotty paper that I went with it!! The letters have all been coloured with Promarkers. The blossom is one of my beloved Petaloo flowers and the centre of the flower is a badge front I had in a kit!!

Wednesday, April 13

Stormy weather!!

Well, it's not really stormy - just a little duller and greyer than we've been used to lately. So, here is one of the Raindrop cards I made yesterday.

Tuesday, April 12

Waiting in

I'm waiting for the gas engineer. I had a mad tidy of the kitchen earlier and am now crafting while I wait. At the moment I'm using a Raindrop kit from C&C. I've made a few cards already but thought that today I'd finish making up the decoupage elements so that I can then crack on with card making without having to stop to do the fiddly bits.

I'm also looking forward to bring able to watch C&C until 6pm on Freeview. Not sure that the bank manager will be looking forward to the bills!!

Birthday Box

I'm not too good at wrapping presents in a creative way - just functional paper, tape and the odd ribbon. Trying to wrap a circular box was never going to work, so I constructed a square box with a bit if origami and secret cutting from a piece of 12 x 12 paper. I added ribbon, petal blossoms and a big brad and voila!!

Saturday, April 9

What a girl!!

To celebrate the start of the Easter holiday, I treated myself to salon manicure - my first one ever!! Now I can have lovely nails while I craft for the next two weeks!!!
